The free version is always free. It’s the same firmware every Chameleon controller runs. An activation adds the parts that need our servers and never takes anything away — start free and activate the same board later, in place, with nothing reflashed.

Questions about buying
Is the free firmware really free forever?
Yes. No account, no trial and no expiry. It isn’t a demo of a paid product — it is the product, running on your own network.
Is anything a subscription?
No. An activation is $100 once, for one controller, for good. Nothing on this page renews.
Can I start free and activate later?
Yes. The same board is activated in place: the app hands it a code, and nothing you’ve set up is lost.
Does the kit need an activation code too?
No — one is in the box. The $1,200 kit is the complete system, Connected included.
What does installation cost?
It depends on the length of your roofline and how many runs the house needs, so we quote it — usually the same day, with a lowest price guarantee.
Do you install outside Florida?
We install in Okaloosa County ourselves. Anywhere else, any permanent-lighting installer can put Chameleon up — the software is free to them — or you can hand a kit to your own contractor.
