Delete Your Chameleon Lighting Account
Last updated: August 15, 2026
You can permanently delete your Chameleon Lighting account and everything
stored with it at any time. You do not need to contact us, and you do not
need to reinstall the app.
How to delete your account
From a web browser:
- Go to app.chameleon.lighting.
- Sign in with the same email and password you use in the app. (Use
Forgot password if you need to reset it.)
- Open Profile and choose Delete Account.
- Confirm. The deletion runs immediately.
From the mobile app: the same Profile →
Delete Account option is available on iOS and Android.
This is immediate and cannot be undone. There is no grace
period and no recovery window. Once the deletion finishes, the account and
its content are gone.
What gets deleted
- Your login itself — email address, password and profile details.
- Everything your household created in the app: playlists, patterns,
palettes, events and your calendar.
- Your listings in the community catalog, so what you published stops
appearing in other people's Discover results.
- Your claim on every device you had paired, along with the device names
and the schedules stored for them.
What does not get deleted
- Your physical lights. Deleting your account releases
each controller back to the unclaimed pool rather than disabling it.
The hardware keeps working and can be set up again from scratch — by
you with a new account, or by whoever owns it next.
- Copies other people already made of your content.
Adding something from Discover makes the adder their own independent
copy, not a link back to yours — so deleting your account removes your
listing, not their lights. Anyone already using something you shared
keeps it and keeps it working.
- Content other people made. Catalog items published by
Chameleon Lighting or by other households are untouched, including
copies you imported from them (those copies are yours, and they go).
If you share a household
If other people have joined your household, deletion is refused rather than
carried out — removing you would leave them pointing at content that no
longer exists. Remove the other members first, under
Household settings, then delete your account.
If you joined someone else's household, deleting your account
removes only you. Their content and devices are not affected.
Deleting individual items without deleting your account
You do not have to delete your whole account to get rid of something. Every
piece of content you create can be deleted on its own, from the app or from
app.chameleon.lighting, while
your account stays exactly as it is.
What you can delete on its own
- Playlists, patterns and palettes. Open the item from
your Library or from Studio and choose Delete.
- Events on your calendar. Open the event and choose
Remove. This also deletes the copy of the playlist that
was made for that event when you added it.
- Controllers. Open the device and choose
Delete. This releases your claim on the hardware and
deletes the name, settings, zones and schedules stored for it. The
controller itself keeps working and can be set up again.
- Guest access you granted. Revoke it from the device's
sharing settings.
- Your profile photo. Replace or clear it from
Profile.
- Your membership of someone else's household. Choose
Leave household under Household settings. Your account
stays; their content is not affected.
What this deletes and what it keeps
Deleting an item removes that item and anything stored with it — its name,
artwork, colours, timings and, for a controller, its settings and schedules.
It happens immediately and cannot be undone; there is no grace period and no
recovery window.
Deleting an item does not touch your account itself — your email
address, name, username and profile stay in place, and so does everything
you did not delete. If you published something to the community catalog,
deleting your copy also removes your listing, but copies other people
already made of it are theirs and remain with them. To remove the account
and everything at once, see
how to delete your account above.
If you want something deleted and cannot find where to do it, email
[email protected] and we
will delete it for you.
